International Study
A few mathematics majors choose to spend a semester or a year studying mathematics at universities abroad.
In the recent past students have studied at Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England, at branches of the Universite’ de Paris, at Bonn University in Germany, at the University of Budapest through itsÌýÌý(in English), and at various universities in Israel, Spain and South Africa.
It is usual to spend a semester of the junior year, or rarely the entire junior year, abroad, rather than the senior year. While it is usually possible to make arrangements for junior independent work while abroad, it is somewhat harder to make arrangements for the senior thesis supervision or the final examinations at the end of the senior year.
Students interested in participating in any such programs should consult theÌýÌýin the Office of International Programs.
