Arthur Strong Wightman,ÌýThomas D. Jones Professor ofÌýMathematical Physics, EmeritusÌýand former Chair of our department, diedÌýon January 13, 2013.Professor Wightman received hisÌýPh.D. from Princeton in 1949 and joinedÌýPrinceton that same year. He retired inÌý1992. Professor Wightman was 90 yearsÌýold.
The University flag over East Pyne was raised at half-mast in his memory from JanuaryÌý15th to January 17th.
