I will talk about a recently proved Dirac-type theorem for surfaces: for any connected, closed 2-manifold S, any 3-uniform hypergraph on n vertices in which each pair of vertices belongs to n/3 + o(n) or more edges contains aÌýHamiltonianÌýcopy of S, and this is tight.ÌýJoint work withÌýGeorgakopoulos,ÌýHaslegrave and Montgomery.
