In 1978 the physicists Eguchi and Hanson discovered a "gravitational pseudoparticle."听 It was quickly stolen by mathematicians.听 I will discuss some topological, analytic, differential-geometric and algebro-geometric properties of the Eguchi-Hanson construction.
