Convex integration

Convex integration is a powerful tool to exhibit听"surprising" solutions to certain differential equations. In this听talk, I will first discuss Nash's 1954 paper on isometric embeddings听of class C^1, in which the technique was introduced. I will then听sketch how, in a different context, the technique was recently used to听resolve a longstanding conjecture of Onsager regarding the Euler听equations of fluid dynamics.
